Senior Housing

Affordable Senior Housing

Silverheels Property Management has successfully managed elderly housing facilities for over 30 years in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Life at our managed retirement facilities is comfortable, dignified, and secure. All of the facilities we manage are equipped with elevators, community rooms, and emergency pull-cords, in-house mail, and laundry facilities. Small pets are allowed provided they meet the facilities’ pet policy. They do not have assisted care on site but many residents have regular visiting caregivers.

All units have individually controlled heating and cooling, wall-to-wall carpeting, ample closet space, and efficient floor plans. Each apartment has a window view and a kitchen, which features a full-size refrigerator/freezer and range. The buildings are well-designed and maintained to provide security while affording a large measure of independence, and you never have to worry about any indoor or outdoor maintenance.

How the Program Works

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Section 202 programs offer rental assistance for seniors who meet the requirements of the federal program. Rents are based on a resident’s adjusted gross income, which is calculated by subtracting approved medical expenses from income. The resident then pays 30% of the adjusted gross income for rent. All utilities are included in your rent except telephone, cable tv and internet.

Residency Requirements

Residency requirements are determined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and are reflected in the Tenant Selection Plan that is specific to each property. The Tenant Selection Plan outlines the requirements for application and acceptance as a Tenant and is available at each location for review.

To be eligible for an apartment:

  • At least one member of the household must be 62 years of age or older although exceptions may be made for qualifying disabilities at some locations.
  • You must be able to meet the posted criteria stated on the Tenant Selection Plan.
  • You must have an annual income consistent with HUD guidelines for income limits.
